Finally, on June 16th, we joyously celebrated the grand opening of our incredible studio. It was an absolutely wonderful evening, filled with dear friends, both old and new. Nestled within the cozy embrace of the showrooms' clay walls, artfully crafted by our talented friend, Till Maciejewski, visitors were warmly invited to explore the world of ceramics created by me and my studio buddies. Each piece found its perfect place, beautifully showcased on custom-made furniture masterpieces designed and constructed by the skillful hands of Arthur Seefried, Johannes Trautmann, and myself.
But the real party was happening at the back of the studio. We had an epic buffet, loaded with delicious cooked, pickled, and baked treats. Our artist pals, Arndis Hallung and Lou Jenny Hardt, really outdid themselves in the kitchen. The presentation was nothing short of spectacular, with a medley of ceramic pieces, ranging from my earliest creations to the most recent, serving as elegant platters for the sumptuous fare. It was a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. And to top it all off, the tablecloth was a true work of art, custom-tailored and dyed by Arndis Hallung.
With the help of many hands, friends, and colleagues, the outdoor area at the back of the studio was transformed into the ultimate hangout spot. We had a fantastic bar, a lively dance floor, and even a clay station where people could get their hands dirty and try making their own ceramic pieces. The atmosphere was absolutely magical, thanks to the amazing tunes spun by Ysbell Schöpps, Vic Junge, and Lou Hardt. Whether guests found themselves immersed in clay, sipping on a tasty drink, or tearing it up on the tiny dance floor, a sense of joy and contentment permeated the entire gathering. It truly was an evening to cherish.
I can't begin to express my gratitude to my incredible friends, family, studio pals, and colleagues for their unwavering support and assistance in bringing this extraordinary event to life. Without their dedication and enthusiasm, this celebration would not have been possible. As I reflect upon this remarkable experience, my heart brims with anticipation for the next occasion that will bring us all together once again.
